What people are saying.

I've spent more than 35 years on the mat training, competing, and learning through wrestling, judo, and jiu-jitsu. Those demanding combat sports taught me that resilience isn't built through success alone — it's forged through failure, adversity, and the willingness to get back up and try again. Long after my competitive career ended, those lessons continue to shape my character, my work ethic, and the way I approach every challenge. So much of the success I've found in life, both on and off the mat, I owe to the person those years of training taught me to become. That's why I believe in what D1P is doing — it trains that mental side on purpose, so athletes don't have to wait for adversity to teach them what it taught me.

Playing nine years in the NFL taught me that talent will get you an opportunity, but your mindset determines what you do with it. The best athletes I've been around understand how to prepare, respond to adversity, and stay confident when the pressure is highest. D1P gives athletes a simple way to train that mental side of performance every day, because when the physical talent is close, the mental edge is what separates you.

I played 14 years in the big leagues, so I know how important athletic talent matters. However, the real separator is the mental side of sport. D1P focuses on that part of the game and I was particularly impressed with the breathing technique portion. I used them throughout my career and in daily life. They were a true difference maker.

The Founder

“D1P was born from one belief: confidence is not something people should have to hope for. It is something they can train daily.”

Adam Donald M.Ed is the Founder & CEO of Daily 1 Percent (D1P) — a mental performance movement built to make confidence, emotional regulation, and pressure-performance skills a daily habit for athletes, students, coaches, executives, and parents.

Adam brings a rare combination of credentials to this work: a Master’s in Educational Administration, a Certificate in Mental Performance Conditioning, dual Bachelor’s degrees from UC Davis, and a Secondary Teaching Credential. He played NCAA baseball at Fresno City College and UC Davis, and went on to coach baseball at the youth, high school, and college levels.

Beyond sport, Adam spent 15+ years as a major-label recording artist on Columbia and Universal Records — performing 200+ shows per year in front of crowds as large as 20,000 — before channeling that elite-level pressure-performance experience into the D1P system. He has spent 20+ years in education, coaching, and performance development, including serving as Athletic Director and multi-sport head coach in San Diego County.
